Review - The Town

I never thought I would say this, but it is official; Ben Affleck is back. Long gone it seemed were his early hits like Good Will Hunting, and Armageddon, but his latest work has almost made me completely forget the disasters that are Jersey Girl, and Gigli.

His latest film "The Town"  which he both co-wrote and directed is based on the renowned high number of armed robbers that are churned out of the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston. It follows a local crew of four who are fully immersed in the Charlestown lifestyle, robbing a bank, and planning armed robberies. Meanwhile Doug (played by Ben Affleck) falls for the manager from the bank heist and gets caught between trying to live two different lives, threatening his crews way of life.

This movie is bad ass from start to finish with great action/suspense, complicated emotions, and awesome performances from the entire cast. It's the type of movie that psyches you up and makes you want to go out and rob a bank. Best movie of its kind since Heat. Welcome back Mr. Affleck!
